HTP: Warsenal Stasis Coffins

These will be for our local shop. They came pre-built thankfully but it meant I wasn't able to paint the glass seperate.  There's a lot of terrain I need to make for our local con Salt Lake Showdown this year.

1. Prime! I tried to do a zenithal prime job on this all to help with the later coating.

2. Cover the whole model with Minitaire D6-105 Dusty Ground. I have to thin these paints because the big bottle allows for some of the medium to leave the paint, making it thicker.

3. Using Vallejo Game Air 72.701 Dead White continuing with the zenithal airbrushing.  I also tried to make sure the plates were a nice solid white. This paint also benefits from being Thinned before use.

4. To get an idea how the coffin will look I painted the base in Vallejo 70.994 Dark Grey

5. The coffin, being a medical device, is painted with Game Color 72.010 Bloody Red.

6. I bought a background! next step is highlight with Game Color 72.100 Rosy Flesh. This is a nice strong highlight compared to the red base. Especially with the oranges we'll use on the rest of the model.

7. To start all the Oranges the base is Game Color 72.009 Hot Orange. This and white are the basis for all the objectives. I wanted something high contrast for all the objectives.

8. The highlight uses Game Color 72.008 Orange Fire. This can be much more liberally used to make sure the highlight is visible.

9.  The stasis coffins came prebuilt so I threw some game color 72.024 turquoise over the glass.

10. to catch the detail I used Winsor & Newton blue ink. In the future I"ll just use a normal blue wash like GW Asurman blue, or whatever it's called now. I will continue the hunt to find a use for these inks.

11. Went back over the ink once dried with Game Color 72.024 Turquoise.

12. I wanted to try my hand at using my Sotar 20/20 fine. With Game Air 72.701 Dead White. I had to thin it down more than I usually do to get it through the fine cone but it was a great practice. I didn't want over spray so they get masking tape hats.

13. I wanted the lens to be a strong yellow. The Model Air 71.002 Medium Yellow took more thinning to get through the Sotar airbrush but went out smooth.

14. The arm was a unsaturated yellow by comparison to the lens. I used Model Color 7.916 Sand Yellow.

15. To get the lines and to add depth I used Citadel Agrax Earthshade around only the line work and in the joints. Covering the entire arm will take to many coats to recover the yellow.

16. With sand yellow again I finished the arm with a final coat.

17. The little stand the arm is on I wanted to do a quick NMM, so I painted the entire thing with Game Color 72.051 Black.

18. To start the NMM, and the box on the front I painted Model Color 70.992 Neutral Gray.

19. To finish the NMM, as well as highlight the gray box on the front I highlighted with Game Color 72.001 Dead White.

20. Final step! Citadel Layer Iron breaker to cover the bar in the back. With that they're table top ready!
