The limited edition Merc model that came out with N3 I've held onto for over a year. This week I finally have a nice, fine, airbrush to use that allows me to do NMM. To keep track of all my color recipe's I made this blog post for posterity.
1. Tutorial for the NMM can be found (coming soon!)
2. The coat will be a tan heavy fabric. I started with Game Color 72.151 Heavy Goldbrown.
3. The coat will be a lighter desert tan. With that in mind I will shade the fabric with a thin wash of Vallejo Model Color 70.983 Flat Earth.
4. To get a good texture I watered the Game Color 72.151 Heavy Goldbrown to almost a glaze. and would drag the color back over making sure to leave the flat earth in the folds and creases of the coat.
5. To start building up the tan I mixed 1:1 Heavy Goldbrown and Model Color 70.986 Deck Tan. From here I mixed the paint to a glaze and would draw lines over the model. Think of it like cross hatching to highlight the model.

6. The final step for the coat is to use pure Model Color 70.986 Deck Tan, thinned and continue the crosshatched technique to highlight the coat.
8. The holster, pouches, and backpack are all painted with Vallejo Model Color 70.941 Burnt umber.
9. First highlight is done with Vallejo Model Color 70.983 Flat Earth.
10. To add depth to the pouches and backpack I added a thin black wash using Game Color 72.051 Black.
11. Adding Deck Tan to the flat earth helps keep the colors unified and is the final highlight for the brown portions of the armor.
12. For his combi rifle I started with a black base, The first highlight was with Model Color 70.992 Neutral Gray in thin coats around areas I felt light would fall on the rifle. Following this, highlight with Model Color 70.989 Sky Gray, and finishing with Game Color 72.001 Dead White.

13. To add a pop of color the scarf around his neck I started with a black base, and painted Game Color 72.010 Bloody Red. Followed by a wash of Game Color 72.051 Black. Going back over the red's with Bloody red to clean up the color, and finish with a 1:1 mix of Bloody Red, and Game Color 72.100 Rosy Flesh for a final highlight.
14. To finalize the model itself I wanted a teal visor. Starting with a flat Game Color 72.024 Turquoise I filled the visor. I then mixed 1:1 with Dead White for a final highlight.
This was a lot of fun to paint. I'll be playing a vanilla army for my Nomads this league so that I can run me some Authorized bounty hunters.
